Fundamentals of Injection Molding and Its Applications

Injection molding is a manufacturing process in which molten plastic or other materials are injected to a mold to develop the shape required. Injection Molding Process

The first step in injection molding involves preparation of the mold usually made from metal e.g. steel or aluminum. Mold halves are designed with one half having cavity which forms the desired shape of the product. Once tightly closed and clamped, the molten plastic is then forced into the cavity at high pressure through the nozzle.
